Coach Mentorship Program

A structured seasonal or full year mentorship program designed to help youth soccer coaches enhance their coaching skills, improve player development, and align coaching strategies with their club’s philosophy to make positive impacts on their players lives.

Using the Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) approach, this program provides coaches with hands-on training, guided mentorship, and structured feedback to elevate their impact on the field and within their club.

Why invest in our coach mentor program?

  • Better Coaches = Better Players

When coaches grow, players benefit. A well-equipped coach fosters engagement, skill development, and a love for the game, leading to players with higher confidence and higher player retention year over year.

  • Sustainable Coaching Pipeline

Not every coach is looking to move up the ranks, but every coach wants to feel valued, supported, and effective in their coaching. By investing in coach development your club builds a stronger, more committed coaching staff that stays engaged for the long term.

  • Club-Wide culture of growth

This program brings a cohort of coaches within your club, using a self-regulated learning model to empower them to identify strengths, address weaknesses, and implement practical, real-world improvements to their coaching.

Mentorship Curriculum

Coaches participate in monthly on-field observations, group sessions, and 1-on-1 mentor meetings designed to challenge and support their growth. Each coach develops an individualized plan through guided reflection and mentorship. The program focuses on building technical knowledge, tactical awareness, and leadership skills essential for long-term success. Timeframes are fully customizable, with options for short-term intensives, season-long support, full-year mentorship, or multi-year development plans tailored to your club’s goals.

Assessment & Growth Tracking

Coaches engage in an ongoing process of self-reflection and evaluation designed to promote continuous improvement. Using a comprehensive assessment framework, coaches complete detailed self-assessments to identify strengths, challenges, and areas for growth. Club directors and mentors conduct structured observations and provide clear, actionable feedback based on real-time coaching performance. This dual perspective—self and external—ensures a well-rounded understanding of each coach’s progress. Personalized development plans are created to track goals, measure growth, and hold coaches accountable throughout the mentorship. Regular check-ins and follow-ups reinforce a commitment to excellence and long-term professional development.
